This dinner is a fairly new addition to our menu and Stephen and I really enjoy it. It is easy to throw together at dinnertime by doing the first half of the recipe in the afternoon. It reminds me a bit of meatloaf in its flavor, and it definitely has a comfort food feel to it, which I love. Here’s how you make it:
1 lb ground turkey or beef
1 cup diced onion
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup ketchup
½ tsp salt
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
¾ cup Bisquick
1 cup milk
Brown the meat in a skillet with the onion. Turn off the heat and drain fat.
Stir in the cheese, salt, worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Spray 8×8 inch dish with non-stick spray and pour meat mixture into dish. Let cool slightly, cover and refrigerate until dinnertime OR continue making the recipe if it’s dinnertime now.
Preheat oven to 400°. In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick, milk and eggs. Pour over meat mixture and cook in oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
